Description

Bad boy Charlie Mortimer, the man behind the bestselling memoir Dear Lupin, joins the conversation to reflect on a life filled with extremes—heroin addiction, high-end shopping, HIV, fast cars, alcoholism, and eventually, happiness.

A disgruntled old Etonian, international HGV driver, serial depressive, former officer in the Coldstream Guards, oil rig worker, and fine art collector, Charlie has seen it all. Battling addiction to heroin, cocaine, Dexedrine, painkillers, and alcohol, he spent decades struggling with deep unhappiness.

But then, in his mid-fifties, everything changed.
A raw, darkly funny, and ultimately uplifting look at a life of excess, redemption, and unexpected joy.

Thank you to both of you. Really good, sparky, interesting and honest conversation. Have recommended on Facebook. (Loved “Dear Lupin”, which is why I listened. Gave it to a widowed friend who was left with two sons in their twenties, and he found it very reassuring as well as very funny.)
